<Cornwall Film AVIS-D Management Board MembersTerry Corby - ChairI have a background and interest in the media sector, and now work in international business. I was a Founding Director of Capital Television Facilities and was responsible for developing and implementing the business plan, sales and marketing operation. I have worked for J. Sainsbury plc as Head of Film, Video and Events. I was Director of Global Marketing Communications, International Division, for the American Express Corporation and at present am Global Director of Integrated Marketing, Innovation and Thought Leadership for Accenture plc, who are the world?s largest management and technology consulting company, I was also the founding Director of the Talent Foundation. Mary DaviesI have worked in film for more than 20 years, in sales, acquisitions, production, development and festivals. From 1995 - 2004 I lived in both New York and London, and have been acquisition director for Cinefil-Imagica, a Japanese satellite film channel, since 1996. For 3 years I was head of New British Expo at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, then became industry consultant to EIFF in 2000. Each year since 2000 I have worked in the industry office of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. I was a member of the national Lottery film panel, at the Scottish Arts Council and then Scottish Screen, since its inception. Earlier I was head of film sales at BFI Production, theatric sales director for Jane Balfour Films, and worked for the European Script Fund and producers Simon Perry and Don Boyd among others. Andrew EdmondsI have spent most of my working life setting up and running successful companies, acting as Managing Director, Company Secretary, Sales Manager, Publicity Manager or Office Manager. I am a co-founder and Chair of the Cornwall Film Festival and on the board of the Media Centre Cornwall and Miracle Theatre. In 2001 I joined the Cornwall Film Fund Advisory Board and stayed on until the current application for ERDF funding had been written and accepted. My involvement in the Cornwall Film Festival and the previous Cornwall Film Fund has kept me constantly in touch with a wide variety of film makers, as well as making films in my own right. I work also as a business mentor with the Princes Trust. Anthony HughesI have been employed by Two Four Productions for the last 8 years, initially as Finance Manager and as Finance Director since 1998. Two Four has grown to be one of the largest regional independent Television Production Companies in the UK. I have been involved in developing the media sector in the South West, including initiatives such as 4South West, supported by Channel 4 and South West Screen and the creation of a dedicated entertainment development team part-funded by the BBC Regional Development Fund. During my time at Two Four I have negotiated significant venture capital investment to start up twofourtv.com Ltd, a Strategic Partnership Agreement with a Finnish software company, and sales of television programmes to overseas broadcasters. Tom PhippsI'm a partner in Bond Pearce specialising in intellectual property / information technology / media work. I'm recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers legal profession guides as a "leader in the field" and work for household name national companies such as Superdrug, Carlsberg, Woolworths, Game and Barracuda Inns as well as locally based clients including Worlds Apart, Eden Project, TwoFour and Gul. I am a tutor with Nottingham Trent University, an Associate Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and a member of the International Trade Marks Association (which is based in the States). I was born and bred in Cornwall, live in Liskeard, and am passionately committed to the Duchy. Karen StockdaleMy background as a senior manager in commercial television and production has included rights management, contracts, programme exploitation and distribution. I have worked as a producer, executive producer and as an ITV commissioning executive. I have produced for regional network television and been involved in a wide range of co-productions. I bring an understanding of the bigger picture regarding development strategy, regional economic growth and prosperity born from working with SWRDA, Government Office, South West Screen and Plymouth Media Partnership, plus a knowledge of European funding initiatives. I was director of the Celtic Film Festival when it last came to Cornwall. Ben WeschkeDuring the development of the new Cornwall Film project, I acted as Chair of the Advisory Board that informed all aspects of the project. As Project Co-ordinator for Creative Kernow, I have recently been involved in the facilitation, advocacy and practical support of a number of key strategic projects in the Creative Industries in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Along with Cornwall Film these include the Creative Industries Task Force, the Leach Pottery St. Ives Restoration Project, Cornwall Web TV, Media Centre for Cornwall etc. I have been active in the media sector for over 25 years and between 1999 and 2003, I was a Director of St Just based animation company Spider Eye that produced 2D and 3D animation for TV series, TV Features and Film. I have worked within the animation/video/photographic industry in many roles, including Production Manager, Studio Producer, Technical Director and Director and have many years of experience working at senior management level in Cornwall based SMEs. Jeremy MillsI started working for the BBC in Plymouth in 1970. I moved to London in 1985 and produced and directed several series for BBC1 including The Vet, The Doctor, and The Skipper (about a Newlyn trawlerman) before becoming an executive producer on a range of BBC1 shows including Children’s Hospital, X cars and Airport. In 1997 I set up Lion Television with two former BBC colleagues Richard Bradley and Nick Catliff. In the early years at Lion I exec produced programmes for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 including Hotel, Children's Hospital, Castaway 2000, Paddington Green, Passport to the Sun, Trading Places, Will's World, and You Askin'? I'm Dancin'. I also devised entertainment series including To Catch A Thief and Demolition Detectives. Having spent a year in LA exec producing our first US network series for FOX, I am currently overseeing a raft of entertainment shows. Lion now has offices in London, Glasgow, New York and Los Angeles and is currently producing around 330 hours for broadcasters around the world.
